Best remembered as Mr. Roarke in the "Fantasy Island" TV Series, Ricardo Montalban started his career on Broadway and in Mexican films. In 1947, he signed a contract with MGM, and appeared in several movies as a singing and dancing "Latin Lover", often playing leading roles opposite Cyd Charisse ("Fiesta", "On an Island with You", "Mark of the Renegade"). He also had a few non-romantic roles, such as in "Battleground" (1949) and "Sayonara" (1957).
Montalban started to appear regularly on TV in the mid '70s, in "Fantasy Island" of course (with Cyd Charisse guest starring in two episodes), but also as Khan in the original "Star Trek" Series. Ricardo Montalban also reprised the role of Khan in the second "Star Trek" movie (1982).
