Plot :
David Bell, a hard-drinking captain that has been discharged from the Navy, is reduced to skippering a rundown schooner in the South Seas. He comes into contact with a group of passengers on their way to Mexico : Charlotte King, an American who flees from her country, Harry Hutton, third-rate show biz entrepreneur, accompanied by his star, a refugee couple, and ineffectual missionary Butterfield. The ship is damaged during a life-threatening storm at sea, and second-mate Ramsay asks Bell to stop in Honolulu, in order to repair the ship...
