Plot :
Two American hunters, lost in the highlands of Scotland, stumble upon a small town not listed on any map. The village of Brigadoon, by virtue of a powerful prayer, only awakens for one day out of every hundred years. One of the hunters, Tommy, falls in love with one of the townswomen, Fiona, but is afraid to give up everything he knows ; the other hunter, Jeff, Tommy's hard-drinking friend, dismisses the legend and indeed the existence of Brigadoon as a result of delirium tremens. During the wedding ceremony of Fiona's sister Jean, one of the townsmen, Harry Beaton, who is in love with the bride, threatens to leave Brigadoon, an act that would spell doom for its residents. When this crisis has passed, Tommy is persuaded against his better judgment to escape Brigadoon himself and return to his own fiancee. Back in New York, Tommy cannot forget Fiona. He returns to Scotland, where his love is so strong that he calls Brigadoon back from the mists so he can join Fiona.

We do not have enough lads in Brigadoon.
Enough for everybody else, or enough for you ?

Can you think of one good reason why I, a strange man, should be interested in proposing to you, a mighty strange woman and at this hour of the day ?
Because you're a lad and I'm a lass !
Well, with that philosophy you must have had a provocative career !
